Message from Head

Welcome to the School of Computer Science & Information Technology (SCSIT) established in 1986 with funding from UGC for MCA program. Later, the School has started M.Sc. (Computer Science) in 1987 with 2 crore funding from DRDO. Also, M.Tech (Computer Science) program was started in 1992; and M.Tech (Network Management & Information Security) and M.Tech (Information Architecture & Software Engineering) were started in 2009, approved by AICTE. M.Tech Executive (Computer Science) program was started in 2019 for working professionals. Keeping in view the social needs in the area of information technology, the School is also running MBA (Computer Management), M.Sc. (Information Technology), PGDCA and BCA programs on self-supported basis. Also, the school has started M.Sc. (Cyber Security) 5 Years Integrated program in 2024. The School has strong Ph.D program having several research scholars pursuing full time research with different scholarship schemes like JRF, SRF, Golden Jubilee Fellowship etc.

Our academic programs cover latest course curriculum as per industry and social needs. And, we offers CBCS courses and implemented NEP policy that blend courses with wide range of elective across disciplines. The programs offered in the department rightly reflect our vision and mission. We produce international quality IT professionals and our alumina are working in top positions of government/ private organizations. The School has modern building infrastructure equipped with ICT facilities and having rich library with latest textbooks, reference books and digital library. Also, School has well equipped modern laboratories with required hardware and software. Research lab provides opportunities for innovations and entrepreneurship activities. Project lab helps students for academic project development and internship/ training activities. English language lab equipped with Globarena software to enhance communication skills.

The School has highly experienced faculty members dedicated to quality teaching-learning, research & development and consultancy services. Our teaching-learning process focuses on the enrichment of analytical skills, problem solving and communication skills of students. Theory is complemented by practical and projects. Most of the projects are carried out for local entrepreneurs in a team, which enable the team building spirits among students and prepare them for working in cross-cultural environments. Our M.Tech students undertake projects from several reputed organizations such as, RR-CAT Indore, ICAR-Indian Institute of Soybean Research, DRDO, NTPC, C-DAC, ST Microelectronics, ISRO etc., and private software companies. Also, the faculty members have produced textbooks of global standards, e-contents for Swayam portal under NMEICT, and involved in various student/ faculty development schemes of AICTE/ UGC/ Higher education. The school has Eco-friendly environment with green campus. Regular extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are conducted for the overall development of students. School provides various financial support and helps to students under various schemes like learn by earn, samarpan etc.
